Fern Fields sits in Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie — a small rural village shaped by its granite-working history, with quiet country lanes and the landscapes of southern Manche right on the doorstep.
The village sits in the heart of the “Bleu de Vire” granite area. The Parc-Musée du Granit tells the story of the local quarries through a demonstration quarry, tools, granite objects and a sculpture park.
For everyday provisions, Fern Fields' existing local guide also points guests towards nearby Gathémo and Saint-Pois.

The old Fern Fields site mentioned several ‘naturist-friendly’ beaches. For the new site, we only list places whose current naturist status can be verified through official tourism or municipal sources.

Pointe d’Agon
At Agon-Coutainville, within a protected natural site. Since 2014, the southern part of the beach, to the left of the slipway, has been officially reserved for naturism by municipal order. It is best thought of as a wild coastal landscape of dunes and open space.
Important: the local tourism office states that swimming is prohibited here by municipal order.
Official naturist beach300 m
Pointe du Banc · Saint-Germain-sur-Ay
A public beach open to everyone, with an official 300-metre naturist section marked by two signs. Access is signposted at the entrance to Saint-Germain-sur-Ay Plage and parking is available nearby.
The naturist section is authorised by municipal by-law and managed by the Saint-Germain Naturisme association.

La Redoute · Merville-Franceville-Plage
If your stay or journey takes you towards Caen/Ouistreham, Merville-Franceville also has an officially recognised naturist area in the dunes west of the main beach. It is signposted and managed by the Plage, Soleil et Naturisme association.
Local rules can change. Always check signage and current official information before settling on a beach, particularly at places that may previously have been described only as ‘tolerated’.
